UPS Rate Table Update (action required if using UPS integration)
For those using the UPS integration feature in the Shipping solution, the UPS Daily Rate Tables for 2018 have been posted to the Solutions for SYSPRO website and must be imported.
Click here for the detailed steps, or for those already familiar with the process, follow these two abbreviated steps:
- For UPS Daily Rate customers, click the following to download the file:
2018 UPS Daily Rate and Zone Information file
- Unzip the downloaded file and place it in a directory on the SYSPRO Application server. Run the Shipping/Handheld System Setup and select the "UPS" tab. Verify that the PLD directory has a valid path. Click on "Import UPSInfo" and when requested enter the path and filename to the text file. Note: importing the UPSInfo file into SYSPRO from the above download link can take a while as it is importing over 330,000 lines of information, so please be patient after the import begins-- do not get frustrated and kill the session.
Updated UPS Routing Codes (URC) (action recommended now, and periodically)
UPS has recently updated its UPS Routing Code (URC) information. The URC identifies the package flow in the UPS delivery facilities and ensures the accurate routing and prompt delivery of a shipment when the URC is included on the shipping label.
For those using the Shipping solution and UPS labels, we recommend updating the URC file. Instructions on how to do that are in our UPS tutorial under Shipping tutorials-- click here to go there now and start with the section "Installing Routing Codes".
Fuel Surcharges Update (recommended monthly)
We also recommend updating the Fuel Surcharge information monthly. To update the Fuel Surcharge information, please see our UPS tutorial under Shipping tutorials-- click here to go there now and start with the section, "Setting/Maintaining UPS Fuel Surcharges".
Other UPS Changes for 2018 (affects shippers with very large packages)
Our Cadacus Shipping solution does accommodate a few other minor changes made by UPS for 2018, but have a limited impact for most shippers, as the changes involve shipping very large packages (generally, where the length is greater than four feet or eight feet). For specific details on these changes, we recommend contacting your UPS representative.
